Bottled in 2010, this single malt was created for true smoky whisky enthusiasts. The nose immediately strikes with waves of burning smoke, ash, damp earth, white pepper, and star anise. The palate is powerful and layered: dense peat, licorice, pungent spices, candied citrus, and a medicinal undertone typical of Ardbeg. The texture is oily and enveloping, while the finish is very long, smoky, spicy, and decidedly memorable.
